Ice harvesting in the lakes and rivers of Saratoga County was a booming business during the nineteenth and early twentieth century. Surrounded by the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers and blessed with an abundance of lakes and ponds, the county was perfectly situated to satisfy the needs of the growing cities.
