Lego Robotics Club

**This program is currently full**

Look for more sessions at a later date.

Round Lake Library now has four Lego Mindstorms EV3 Robotics kits (and four PCs to program them) provided by a grant from the GLOBALFOUNDRIES/Town of Malta Foundation.  Lego Robotics Club will meet at the Malta branch on Tuesdays from 4:00 to 5:30 for 8 weeks from July 11 to August 29.

Kids will work in teams of two to build working robots from the kits, write programs to control them on the PCs and download and execute the programs on their robots.  Building and programming robots is time consuming and projects will require more than one meeting to complete. Participants should plan to attend all eight meetings of the Club.

This will be a more structured activity than our regular LEGO clubs.  The Lego Technics parts which are used to build the robots are more exacting to work with than regular Legos and the programming concepts can be a little difficult. We are recommending that participants be at least ten years old. However, the Mindstorms programming interface is graphical, using touchscreens, and only minimal keyboarding skills are needed.
