American Library Association’s Top 10 Most Frequently Challenged Books of 2009

A challenge is defined as a formal, written complaint, filed with a library or school, requesting that materials be removed or restricted because of content or appropriateness. All of these items are available at the Round Lake and Malta Libraries. These items are challenged for a variety of reasons, including homosexuality, sexually explicit, religious viewpoint, offensive language and unsuitability to age group.  Be sure to check out these banned books!

It provides subject access, reviews, annotations, and includes Author Read-alikes, Book Discussion Guides, BookTalks, and Feature Articles. – Search by element of plot, character, setting, etc. to find a specific kind of book (or movie). Includes fiction genres (romance, mystery, etc) as well as literary fiction, biographies and history.
