The Round Lake Library offers digital access to ebooks for our patrons. Please be aware that having overdue items or charges in excess of $5 on your library account will prevent you from borrowing digital material.
Overdrive allows patrons to borrow ebooks (and audiobooks) for use on their computers, ereaders, tablets, smartphones, and other devices. Available titles can be borrowed for a 14 day period, after which they automatically expire — so there are never any late fees! You can reserve checked-out titles, and be notified by email when they become available.
Log in with the barcode number from your SALS library card (no spaces). Find app information, device-specific download directions and more on Overdrive’s Help page. See more about who can use the service and limitations on use on the SALS Overdrive FAQ page.

Overdrive also offers ebooks and e-audiobooks for kids and teens.
The Round Lake Library offers our patrons a second way to borrow ebooks through Freading. Patrons can log in with their library card barcode number (no spaces) to borrow ebooks for 14 days, up to a rolling weekly limit of 3 books. All titles are always available, so you’ll never have to place a hold.
For info on Apps, Adobe Digital Editions, and other things you might want to know, check out Freading’s FAQ page.
Visit Project Gutenberg for a vast selection of public domain ebooks to download and keep.
Project Gutenberg is not associated with the library, but is a great free resource (especially when you have a book report on a classic due and all the library’s copies are checked out).
