The Round Lake Library is now hiring for two Library Assistants.
Currently we are looking to fill an immediate opening and one to begin late July. We are looking for individuals interested in being a part of both youth and adult services. Youth services includes helping to provide youth programming such as storytime, summer reading and other programs for various ages.
Job Opening: Part-Time Library Assistant
Round Lake Library/Malta Branch
Job Description: The Round Lake Library is now hiring a part-time library assistant to work in both branches of the library. Hours will consist of a combination of morning, evening and Saturday hours. In addition to providing programming and services to our youth, this position also involves providing direct library services to the public, performing routine library clerical duties, and other library tasks as assigned. Requirements for this position include strong customer service skills, the ability to work with people of all ages, and a base knowledge of current technology. Experience working with children and creating age appropriate programming is preferred but not required. This position is supervised by the Library Director.
The position starts at $15.
Duties include greeting library users, helping patrons find needed information, answering the phone and performing a wide range of clerical duties. The job also includes checking in and out library material, creating library displays and working with other staff on library programming.
Minimum Requirements: Strong communication and customer service skills, dependability, High School diploma
