ROUND LAKE LIBRARY TO HOST 9/10 KNIGHTS TEMPLAR PRESENTATION, BOOK SIGNING:
Seat of Power Author Set to Sign Books at Other Capital Region Bookstores 9/9-9/10
ALBANY, NY (August 28, 2009) — If you’re a fan of Dan Brown’s novels and eagerly awaiting the Sept. 15 release of The Lost Symbol, you won’t want to miss a presentation and book signing Thurs., Sept. 10 from 1-3 p.m. at the Round Lake Library, 31 Wesley Avenue, Round Lake, NY by Albany native Gerald FitzGerald.
Â
His new international thriller, Seat of Power, (Vantage Press, 319 pages ISBN: 0533160391), written in the tradition of Angels and Demons and The DaVinci Code, draws on years of research into the activities of the Knights Templar, the forerunners of the Masons.
Â
“The idea for the book involves many life’s experiences with both political and religious power structures,” said FitzGerald, a middle ages and Protestant Reformation history buff, who traveled to Jerusalem, Rome, Washington and Albany to clarify references in the thrilling and well-researched page-turner. Â “My research into the rich history of the Knights Templar is important both to the story and to all Knights Templar fans. Â The book provides revelations of this ancient power, which exposes abuses by modern day political and religious leaders.”
Â
FitzGerald, the former director of aviation for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey where he held responsibilities for managing Newark, LaGuardia and JFK International Airports, is also slated to speak and sign copies of his book at these locations:
Â
Wednesday, Sept. 9
Noon-2 p.m. — William K. Sanford Library, 629 Albany Shaker Road, Colonie (Presentation and Book Signing)
7-8:30 p.m. — The Book House at Stuyvesant Plaza (Book Signing)
Â
Thursday, Sept. 10
4-6 p.m. — Borders Crossgates Mall (Book Signing)
Â
For more information about the novel, which highlights numerous regional landmarks such as Lincoln Park, Lake George and Gloversville and features the Times Union in the final gripping pages, visit www.seatofpowerbook.com
